The VINCULUM project is part of the international conference “Archivi e modernità: nuove prospettive di ricerca”.

Several researchers gather for this meeting in Pisa to analyse the archives as result of material contingencies and cultural representations, in reflection of their many aspects regarding its function and importance to institutional power and political history.

It is this crucial role of archives to modern states that will be discussed during two days. VINCULUM project has a saying in this discussion, along with a set of other projects that demonstrate an international turn in the way we value the archives.

This turn has been also materialized through a recent increase of support given to research projects, reflecting the growing recognition of the fundamental role of archives and their importance for the knowledge and understanding of past and current societies.

ERC grantee Maria de Lurdes Rosa presents “Remodeling archival research and data treatment: the VINCULUM project (ERC CoG 2018)”, on June 3rd, 2019, this is during the first part, starting 2pm.
